Social integration

We found that a higher degree of social integration was associated with a lower risk of physiological dysregulation in a dose response manner both early and later life. Conversely, lack of social connections was associated with a significantly increased risk of certain life stages. (…) Physiological effects of structural and functional aspects of social relationships occur uniquely in adolescence and midlife and continue into old age.
